Patent leather makes me happy...

I have written about these shoes before, and I am sure I will write about them again...
Today, the choice this morning was about super cute, comfortable shoes that would be NOTICED if seen!!!

I am not one of those women who brings wardrobe changes for a day, so I like to pick a look that will take me from morning to night whenever possible.

I wore these through work and out after... so about 14 hours, and I could have kept going.  As you can read in the older post, I found these at DSW and as you may know.. they are part of my SHINY shoe collection!  Patent leather makes me happy and I am NOT ashamed of it!

Ready for Combat

The shoes for work today - Restricted Combat Booties.

I found these on sale through DSW.com, and they have proven to be a great find.
These 4 inch heels are very comfortable.  For me, the slight platform in the sole and the fully enclosed shoe makes a heel much more comfortable.

The chocolate-y brown suede, with the snake skin texture, also bring some happiness to my heart when I put these on!
These boots also come in black, and there are a few pairs available on endless.com.
Restricted makes lots of fantastic boots.  Here are some on DSW.com and WOW - check out this Google shopping search for "Restricted booties".

Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room - the 1st FOOD post

Well, this food is WORTH the first post!  While visiting Savannah, GA, I had the pleasure of sitting at a table at Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room.

There is nothing more welcoming than to sit down to a table filled with home-cooked food, with family, friends or strangers (you won't be strangers for long). - "Pass the chicken!"

The table, set for us before we sat down.

Mrs. Wilkes' is pure and simple.

  • Line up before they open (um... the line gets LONG, so skip breakfast and get in line)
  • Sit down at a table (tables of 10).
  • Wait for the blessing, especially the first seating, no matter what you believe... you will want to THANK someone for this food.
  • Now, PASS THE CHICKEN!!! And then pass EVERYTHING else.  I think we were passing food for a solid 10 minutes before we gave up.
  • Enjoy!!!  Talk to the people about the food, figure out who those strangers are, pace yourself!
Plate ONE
  • Look around the table, it's time for round 2.  Figure out what never for passed the first time, or what did not make it around the table, or what needs to make it around again! (Umm... pass the chicken and the mac and cheese and the dressing)
  • Don't forget to drink the tea.
  • Eat every bite you can manage.
  • WAIT - save room for dessert!!! - You can choose between two, so if you are alone, I hope you made friends with someone sitting near you.  Sharing is KEY.
Dessert - Banana Pudding or Peach Cobbler
  • Clean up time!  Yes, you need to take your plates to the kitchen.  Just like home.
The Line - When we were leaving. If you arrive before 2, you will eat!
I cannot believe this was my first time eating at Mrs. Wilkes'.  But I guarantee you, it will NOT be my last.  I am thinking of as many reasons as possible to get back to Savannah soon ans OFTEN.

Oh... and... "Excuse me, Mr. President, pass the chicken.  Ummm... please."
I wasn't there with him, but I sat in the same chair!

New & Nostalgic - Converse always fit!

This weekend, I attended my high school homecoming game and reunion picnic!
These shiny silver Converse All Stars were prefect.

I got this pair off the clearance racks at a DSW, but I have found this metallic silver pair on DSW.com.  Glimmer - there is not better description!

Of course, we can rely on Converse for lots of options!  Check out these metallic purple shoes or what about a pair covered in sequins!

Peacock - Quiet Beauty

Seychelles Women's Peacock Peep-Toe Pump

Mondays are a great day for some quiet confidence... a little pep in your step... something beautiful to keep you going!

For me, these Seychelles Pumps do the trick!  I have some other Seychelles in my collection, they are pretty, unique, and pretty unique.  I also LOVE the fit so much!!!

Of course, I got my pair at DSW and they have quite a few Seychelles to choose from.  Zappos and Shoes.com also have a great selection.  Check out this style - Gypsy - I might have to try these out!
